CCCM

Christ Community Church of Milpitas is an organization that I worked closely with to update their decades-old branding and build a closer connection to their divese community through web and print design.

Updating CCCM's decades-old branding was critical in furthering their mission of improving the lives of the community. This was done through consistent meetings with shareholders to iterate on visual concepts, and the results were tested on different demographics in the area.

As the church is located in an ethnically and culturally diverse part of the Bay Area, my biggest challenge was creating universal symbols and messages to better connect this community.

Branding

One of the hardest parts of re-branding a nearly 50-year-old organization is updating the aesthetic while keeping it timeless enough to last for years to come. CCCM prides itself on its diversity in the community of Milpitas, and we landed on a symbol that matches the open embrace of the organization across many languages and cultures.

Once an initial concept was developed and agreed on by committee, user testing was done around the community to ensure the symbol and overall logo was meaningful and unoffensive across multiple languages and cultures.

Website

I was also solely responsible for designing and building their website including a mobile-friendly responsive layout and easy to use content management system.

Much extra attention was given to creating tablet and phone-friendly responsive layouts, because many members and potential visitors use mobile devices to learn about the church and to check for updates. This also meant that graphical standards were set for images and pages so that any administrator can upload new content with very little oversight, leading to a website that can be used for many years to come.
